Red Flag Warning - November 10-12, 2018

The Sacramento area, including Folsom, will be under a Red Flag Warning from 10 p.m. tonight until 7 a.m. Monday morning. The City of Folsom Fire Department urges its residents and business owners to remain extra vigilant during this time and to report fires to 9-1-1 immediately. Due to the upcoming weather conditions, we ask that you:

  • Avoid having open flame fires outdoors until the current incidents and weather stabilize.
  • Refrain from using metal cutting blades when mowing dry grass or cutting other dry vegetation.
  • Connect garden hoses to your outdoor hose bibs to assist with extinguishing any possible small fires near your home.
  • Ensure that vehicle exhaust pipes are kept away from dry vegetation.
  • Always know at least two ways out of your neighborhood.
  • Register with Nixle to receive emergency alerts.

Feel confident that your Fire Department is prepared to respond immediately for any fires that affect the Folsom community.
