Folsom Americana Fest: An Evening Featuring John Carter Cash

  • Date: 10/21/2022 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

The Wildwood Performing Arts Foundation presents an intimate evening with John Carter Cash sharing memories of his parents June Carter Cash and Johnny Cash, touring with his father, and his experience as a producer. The event takes place from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, October 21 at the Folsom Community Center, 52 Natoma Street. Tickets include a custom menu of delicious appetizers and dinner prepared by Chef William Hartzell of Represa Grill, no-host bar, dancing to live country music by the Granite City Ramblers, and a live auction. The event also features a display of Cash family photos and memorabilia—some never shown in public before.

Enhance your experience with an exclusive meet-and-greet cocktail hour on the outdoor patio. Listen to acoustic singer-songwriter Chloe Mead and mingle with John Carter Cash; Adan Romo, the artist behind the planned Art Trail installations; and other musicians and special guests.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Folsom Cash Art Trail and the Wildwood Performing Arts Foundation. Limited seating is available for this very special evening event. Individual tickets, discounted tickets for two, and celebration tables for eight are available at www.folsomfest.org.

The City of Folsom completed the Johnny Cash Trail in 2017. One end of the trail is anchored by the Johnny Cash Bridge—a soaring bike/pedestrian overcrossing suspended from towers designed to mimic the architecture of Folsom Prison. A portion of the trail travels over prison property. Johnny Cash’s signature song, “Folsom Prison Blues,” created worldwide name recognition for the city, and thus it seemed only natural that the trail meandering past the prison would be named in honor of The Man in Black. The trail includes plans for eight public art installments and 3-acre Legacy Park themed around and honoring the legacy of the musician. Learn more at www.folsomcasharttrail.com.

Make it a weekend! Enjoy nine hours of live country, folk, bluegrass, and rockabilly music Saturday, October 22 at the Dan Russell Rodeo Arena, on Stafford Street in Folsom. The concert is headlined by Texas Hill, with additional performances by John Carter Cash, Dirty Cello, Granite City Ramblers, and others. Gates open at 11 a.m.; food trucks, local vendors, beverages, and a dance arena are available on site. Learn more and purchase tickets at www.folsomfest.org.
