Patrons may suggest a title for purchase by emailing libstaff@folsom.ca.us or you can use the contact form on our Location & Hours page.

Any California resident 18 and over may obtain a library card. Simply bring your picture ID with a current address and completed card application to the check-out desk at the library. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian providing the same ID as above.

Library patrons may borrow up to 50 items on their account at any given time. Within this limit, patrons may have up to one Let's Read and Play Bag, one I'm a Reader Backpack, and two Book Club in a Bag kits.

Yes, no new card needs to be issued, though you are welcome to have both a Folsom and a Sacramento card. Most materials borrowed at the Folsom Public Library may be returned at any Sacramento Library branch.

Cards from Sutter County, Woodland, and Colusa Public Libraries and their branches are also accepted. Most materials borrowed at these other libraries may be returned to the Folsom Public Library. This page on our site has additional details.

Volunteers from the Friends of the Folsom Library operate the book store in the library building at 411 Stafford St and hold large book sales in September and March.

The book store sells gently used, donated books including fiction, nonfiction, biographies, children’s books, music CDs, cookbooks, and paperbacks. New items include handmade greeting cards, book bags, and gift cards.

Proceeds from the book store support the library through materials, summer reading programs for all ages, as well as cultural and educational programs.
