These programs only happen once unlike our book clubs or conversation club which repeat on a regular schedule. Typically these feature someone from the community who is an expert on a topic such as history, literature, careers, self improvement, or another topic that is central to the library's purpose in the community.

Stephen Meadows is a Californian poet with roots in both the Ohlone and the pioneer soil of his home state. Stephen has published poems in anthologies and collections nationwide: The Sounds of Rattles and Clappers, The Dirt is Red Here, and Releasing the Days. His latest publication is Winter Work released in 2022. Stephen is the current Poet Laureate of El Dorado County, California. Saturday, November 2, 1 p.m. in the Library Meeting Room.

Tamil writer of one of the longest novels in the world - Venmurasu. Jeyamohan is one of India’s finest authors writing today, he has traveled the length and breadth of the Indian subcontinent, and his work examines and reinterprets India’s rich literary and classical traditions. Amos P. Catlin, The Whig Who Put Sacramento On The Map, chronicles Amos' life from his arrival in California in 1849 to his death in 1900 in Sacramento. Amos organized and built the Natoma water ditch in the early 1850s, was elected to the California Senate, and wrote the bill to relocate the state’s capital to Sacramento.

Explore the publication of A Christmas Carol and its enduring legacy on Christmas customs, as well as Dickens’ private and public controversies. Carrie Sessarego, author and book blogger will share the inside story of how the most popular author of his time went from the instant success of A Christmas Carol in 1843 to a shocking separation in 1858 from his wife of 20 years and with whom he had 10 children.

Cindy Fazzi will talk about her journey in writing MULTO (meaning ghost in Tagalog), a thriller about a Filipino American bounty hunter chasing an undocumented Filipina who can disappear like a ghost. The novel will be available for purchase courtesy of Ruby’s Books. The event will also include a Q&A and book signing. Fazzi is a Filipino American writer and former Associated Press reporter. She has worked as a journalist in the Philippines, Taiwan, and the United States. She lives in the Sacramento area. MULTO is her first thriller.

The authors' books are available for purchase and signing courtesy of Face in a Book of El Dorado Hills.
